Anyone running Win 7 RTM and noticing lower battery life? My 6 cell can barely push 2 hours, though its missing about 30% of its capacity due to wear. Its about 18 months old with a lot of charge and discharging. I do like Win 7, the laptop is running very snappy with it.

6 cell with 30% wear equals 39 Wh. A consumption of 19.5 W is rather high.. but it also depends on what you are running on the laptop.. If there is a lot of processor usage, it's fine..

I had no problems with battery drain after upgrading from vista to win 7. I made comparisons, and both gave the exact same duration.

Its normal for a battery to loose capacity with time, and more if you constantly had it cycling (charging-discharging-charging-etc)

maybe you are running more background software on win7, or another factor you didn't have enabled in vista (bluetooth, wireless, screen brightness? more programs means more cpu usage, which means more power needs )

i dont really know, but there could be a difference in the power saving profile in win7. Maybe you could try customizing it to fit your needs.

Just thoughts anyway, i hope it is of help.

I use RMClock to remove the cpu whine using the disable popup and popdown modes. Also I keep my chip at 1300MHZ and .9 volts. I have BT and Wireless enabled. Brightness at 50-60%, I think its just my battery wearing down :(
