    XPS 1330 LCD problem

    Hi..

    I have a problem with my XPS 1330 LCD displays.. It doesn't display anything on the screen.. Mostly Just horizontal lines when i turn on the power..i even do not seen dell logo bar starting.. No window vista starting up either.. But sometime when i make power turn on and off several time then window can start and i can use it..But it doesn't long.. During i'm using it some sports or lines are appearing again and i cannot do anything..

    So.. anybody please can help me what i have to do.. Unfortunately, its warranty was expired in October and problem happened in November..

    If you have a NVIDIA 8400M GS, then most likely your VGA card is busted. This is a very common problem with_M1330s having 8400M GS, nothing you can do except get the motherboard replaced. Call DELL.

    Hi mminch,

    as there has been said, If you have nVidia graphic card and not Intel integrated one, you can call technician to replace it for FREE!!!

    DELL will give you +1 year warranty on your notebook, so if you picked up 1 year warranty you end up with 2 years. That's because all of the nvidia chips are faulty and the warranty concerns only the faulty video chip.

    Can i send this information to Dell by email..? Do u know the email address..? As i'm not very familiar with the internet and Dell support site is too complicated for me..

    Actually my friend bought it for me from Switzerland.. But now i'm living in Burma and i have some difficult to call Dell by phone.. Dell is not much using in our country and cannot do anything here..

    You are in a bit of a tight situation, since you got it from another country and there are no DELL service centers in your country. Depending on the warranty policy, you'd have to either send it back to Switzerland or to the nearest country with a DELL service center. But you cannot do anything before getting the warranty transfered under your name; or you have to ask your friend to handle the warranty claim. Contact the regional DELL site where your friend bought it. They will tell you what to do.

    I don't know if it will work where you are, but you can try Dell Chat over the internet. Then ask for the representative's email in order to send them a pic of the lines on your screen. Good luck!
