I've got the XPS 13 with WLED (The screens hardware ID is SEC5441)

Overall I think its a very nice lap, but the screen is flickering when I visit certain websites.

On www.livescore.com for instance the background is flickering so much it's almost uncomfortable.

I've tried to change the refresh rate of the screen but it can't get above 60hz which acually seems a bit low to me. Also problem is the same both when AC is connected and when it's on battery.

Is this a normal thing for a screen like this, or?

No flickering here on that website in Firefox 3.5 or Internet Explorer 8 with latest flash installed and nVidia WHQL 185.85 drivers.

The screen for my XPS M1330 is the same SEC5441.

just tryed that site with opera, win 7, on my sxps 13 with a WLED SEC5441, and no flickering here

maybe is a driver issue on your end? also try changing from the hybrid sli modes to see if that helps.

I'm seeing flickering on that site, too. FF3, Vista x64 HP, WLED SEC5441, Nvidia 185.85 WHQL.

ive noticed that on my laptop after switching from preformance to power saver mode. It stays that way even if I switch back, I have to restart in order to get rid of the flicker. its probably a driver issue.

That website just flickers. Your led screen is fine. It's the site (I tried it on a ccfl wuxga screen, flickers).

Ok guys, I've just tested on several desktops and laptops. Final test was on my N10J with both intel and nvidia graphics. It's an nvidia issue (99% driver issue). On the same laptop the intel card has no flicker, nvidia flickers. So initial assumption about the screen was right, it's not a screen problem. Enjoy the laptop, the screen is fine.

Thank you all for the replies!

I've sort of come to the same conclusion as amihalceanu. It must be a driver issue. I think I might actually have found a solution. I have reduced gamma from 50% to 35% in the nvidia control panel and that has almost made the flickering disappear.

    Strange, though.

I'm using the latest Dell Nvidia driver (A06) - dunno if theres a better one around I should try?

    Btw Im running vista 64bit
