    Hi everyone,
i just received my dell xps 13, i7 FHD with Iris; The laptop is amazing, and i'm very happy with it.
I noticed a little coil whine, but for now it is not annoying, since i hear it only sometimes, and only when i'm alone and all is quiet.
But i have a question; i upgraded the bios driver with the last version available on Dell's website, and after that the boot time has become longer ( i think 20 sec), and the wake up time from sleep has become longer too. ( 6-7- sec). For the boot time, it takes maybe 10 sec to load the Dell logo, so i think it is a bios problem rather than a windows problem.
Are those times normal? I thought it was faster before upgrading the bios.
    Thank you all.

    Daniele.

Moving this post to the XPS sub-forum. I notice there's an XPS 15 owner that is reporting the same slow(ish) boot time:

20 seconds doesn't seem horrible to me, but if it is a lot slower than prior there certainly be some difference with the new BIOS that involves more system checks or something and thus slower boot time.

Make sure you reset your BIOS settings to "BIOS Defaults" after uprgrading, reboot then set your preferences. This will ensure that all the new settings take properly.
