Thinking about upgrading from 2GB to 4GB of ram (I do have Vista x64). The prices on Crucial for DDR2-667 and DDR2-800 ram are similar. Will the M1330 benefit from going with the faster ram modules?

It will only benefit from DDR2-800 in that if both the DDR2-667 and DDR2-800 are CAS 5 at their rated speed, then, I believe, when the DDR2-800 clocks down to 667, it will also run at CAS 4.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong on that.

You will notice no difference since the Santa Rosa platform the M1330 is based on does not support any faster than DDR2-667. However, if they're the same price anyways you may want to buy the DDR2-800 because the Montevina platform many new notebooks are based on do support DDR2-800 and if you buy a new laptop based on this platform you can just swap the RAM over when you're done with your M1330.

I have an m1330 2.6 GHZ penryn based I believe, does my motherboard fully utilize DDR2-800 and would it be worth swapping out my DDR667 for DDR800.

    Thanks

It's still the same chipset, so I believe the answer is you will not get any benefit from DDR2-800 even though you have a newer Penryn CPU.
