I'm hoping they do fix the more vents, newer gpu, fix throttling, better or different material palm rest (so many smudges), OLED screen.

I already love this laptop, just want dell to make it awesome.

I just ordered an XPS 1645 and am wondering the same thing. Has there been any leaked info of a new XPS model?

Probably not, considering even the Studio line already had their GPU refreshed and the SXPS still sporting the old 4670, Dell will most likely just replace it entirely. The throttling issues probably had a hand in that, too.

Although you won't see any laptops with an OLED any time soon, Dell did have a concept model of the SXPS16 with an OLED at CES, it was estimated the screen costs $3000.

Ouch, if that's true, then between now and Septemberish, there'll be nothing with ATI Mobility 5600/5700/5800 series GPUs from Dell? Looks like a lost opportunity to me. But meh, maybe the higher-ups at Dell know what they're doing...or not...

So no upgrades/refreshes are planned between now and the fall? Thats rubbish, I was hoping (based on all the "money off" coupons they are giving out over here) that they were trying to get rid of some XPS16 stock in order to bring out a refresh soon

I wanted an XPS 13 for a long time- I stayed away while reading issues about overheating- I came across a very good deal on an XPS16 - I really love it sans all the problems- I have a new 1647 arriving monday- I hope that fixes the issues- I will be looking at the 13-14 inch XPS if one comes in the fall for my Wife.. I ordered a Vostro 3400 with the Nvidia to get by until Dell offers what we want- The Vostro will go to my Daughter once a better machine shows up.

I really doubt that the SXPS 16 will receive any further updates. From consumer reviews the entire line is one of the most troublesome models aside from the SXPS 13. I personally am staying away from dell till they change their offerings after this fiasco. In the end I returned my SPXS 16 and am back using my Inspiron 9300 till something comes out that shows the same reliability. Perhaps the new fall line-up will show something new.
