    when i use ATI or DELL driver for my hd4670 i only have these resolution in attachment



    but when i use 10.6 from Strags.com ,,,,, i have much more resolution like 1366*768 and others......


    what is the reason?

    Because the drivers on the Dell website are made specifically for your computer, only allowing you to select your correct resolution. The ones on strags are generic drivers for any laptop, so you have to choose the correct resolution yourself.

    Is it harmful to use the one from STRAGS.com??????????

    It is never a good idea to attempt to set your monitor's resolution to something it does not natively support. While the action of using the unofficial driver itself may not cause any harm, setting your monitor to an unsupported resolution can. I would strongly recommend that you use only official drivers.

    That is true, but i don't think 1366 X 768 would damage the LCD as it is a resolution lower to full HD.
    I found this article here.;)

    but it is non standard (not wide screen ) resolution. therefore won't look much good on the widscreen.
