I just ordered the screen from your first link last night but of course I have not received it yet. I would be happy to report back when I get it but it could be a couple of weeks because I think its coming from China. I ordered it because another user recommended them and the only issue they had was that he got a glossy screen even though the link said it was matte. I don't care because I am not even sure what I want, there are positives and negatives for both. If you are concerned I would email them before you place the order.

Now on the second link, my guess is that the screen is a LG and I have not seen a positive review on LG. I am sure you already knew that the LG's sucked based on the model you are looking for. When I was looking for my LCD and I found one said that it was compatible with my laptop but it did not list the model it always came back with them telling me it was a LG. This included egay. If the screen is the AUO I would go with the seller. I checked out there reviews and they are excellent.

I don't really want to dissapoint someone, but i had a chance to order the same screen as you did and got completely different model from LG!!! Well it's of course 10 times better than the stock one but it's not the case... Just try to read the desciption clearly. At the warranty section on your first link there's something you should've taken into consideration, like:

    1. Matte or Glossy at your decision - AUO B156HW01 V.4's only Matte, so first sign of Compatible screen, not the original
    2. Full compatible or same as original LCD screen - second sign!

So, i suggest you to cancel your order ASAP, cause you'd probably receive some sort of LG model instead! Don't follow my mistake...

The only guy i know who sells the original AUO screens on the forum is barlow00 from Kuzotronic, you might wanna contact him first! Cheers

you can refuse shipping on the screencountry LG screen, but they will still charge you shipping, which I think is BS. because if you scroll down on their link they say they sell only genuine 156hw01 v.4

I wanted to report them somewhere for false advertising, but its not worth my time. I just hope someone reads this and understands

and yes, I was the one that found NBKit screens, they are v.4's, but glossy. Another disappointment. The guy was nice, but just didn't follow through when it came to returning shipping let alone original shipping for their mistake, so I kept it. Might end up getting it repolorized to matte later.

B156HW01 v4 is NOT glossy. The sticker on the back must say something else (V0, 3, 5 or 7)

no, its a v.4. Says so on the sticker and using Aida64. Windows 7 even downloaded the lenovo driver.

there are some glossy v.4. I think what happened is they repolorized them to glossy for some reason.

I would go with Kuzotronic if I could do it again. Here's my contacts with NBKit support. I started growing impatient at the end. Its sad they are shipping the LG screens now instead if that is true Red Line.

the AUO B156HW01 V.4 is genuine and not just compatible right? I only want a genuine AUO B156HW01 V.4 thanks

    Thankyou for this message.
Just let you know B156HW01 V.4 will be restocked 1-2 days, exact model .
Your order will be shipped as soon as possible.
    Thanks
    Kevin

this panel is not a V.4, the screen is glossy. The label on the back said V.4 but it lied

    The B156HW01 V.4 is a matte screen.

I am so sad, you did not sell what you advertised.

    Hi ****,
    Thank you for this message.
As i can see from order records, the screen is V.4.
Surface itself could not saying the version. because even same version , for dell laptop may be glossy, for lenovo may be matte.
It is depended by laptop company order demand, not itself.
    thanks and please kindly understand.
    Kevin

the V.7 is used by Dell and is the glossy version of the V.4, I don't understand there is so much bad information out there. I admit maybe I am wrong.

Can you get a matte v.4? Would you do an exchange?

I didn't order the Dell FHD screen because I wanted matte.

The matte has been very hard to find, but the glossy is listed everywhere.

Thanks for your attention and help.

    Hi ***,
Thank you very much for this message.
Do you mean the screen you received is V.7? Is it possible to take a photo of the backside to show it.
If you just want a matte screen, you can bring it at a repaire centre. they can remove the glossy skin, and it will be matte one.
Then let us know how much you spend on it.
    Regards,
    Kevin

it said v.4 on the label, I just meant that as far as I know all v.4 were matte and all v.7 were glossy. Dell uses the v.7 I think you are right about the v.4 coming in glossy or matte, even though I have read on several sites v.4 is supposed to be matte. I think the internet is full of bad information on this screen.

I have another issue though, to find your site I went through many others. The thing that made me buy from your site is that it said matte on the item description. You can read it here:

    [AUO B156HW01 V.4 ] - AUO B156HW01 V.4 LCD screen - US$130.95 - AUO B156HW01 V.4 LCD screen 15.6 inch LED 1920x1080 WUXGA - wholesale laptop screen-wholeslael laptop battery

    screen surface says matte.

What can we do now? I would like a matte B156HW01 v.4 instead, or a full refund including postage fee/return postage.

I don't know what else to do, I am unsatisfied and feel mislead from your item description. It had been so long since I ordered, I had to go back and re-read it to be sure.

You seem like a real nice person, but you must understand my situation a little? I went to great lengths to get a matte screen, they are hard to find.

Thank you, and I'm sorry for the bad news.

    Hi ****.

Thank you for this patience and reply .

I can understand your description very well.

It is out of expected that you receive the Glossy screen B156HW01 V.4. we are sorry for this case.
Because all our orders shipped by the LCD model number, and on that label should be B156HW01 V.4, that is why we did not realized it is glossy one.

Now there are 2 options for we to solve on this matter:
    1. Your return it for exchange matte one or refund.
    2. Without return it back, you bring this LCD screen to a LCD repair center, they could remove the glossy skin and change it into matte upon a 10$-15$ charge, may be a little varies. we can refund you more than the expense as a compensation and you keep it.

Just let you know, we note that B156HW01 series LCD screen is out of market. in short time not available.

At last , please kindly take 1-2 photos of lcd screen you received at backside. email us this photo at this email [email protected].
It is better if you can show the lcd model number on LCD module board .
I need this photo to check with our purchase staff and supplier, i just need your help on photos......

Just no worry about your funds , anytime, you have right to return the lcd screen back if dislike it for exchange or refund in 1 year warranty .
Sorry for any confuses due to my strange and long English.... please kindly understand.

    Thank you Kevin,

I thought maybe it was a protective film on the screen, so installed it. I found out pretty fast it wouldn't come off. I'm using it now. it is a nice screen, but whenever it is black all I see is the backround behind me because of the glare coating. I hope installing it is still ok for an exchange. I am going to dismantle it right now, and send your pictures. Ok, the picture has all the serials on the back, enlarged over the back of the lcd panel to be easier to read. Let me know if I can do anything else.

I never heard of them taking a gloss off a screen before, I wouldn't even know where to go. I tried googling someone that would do it, but can't find anyone. I think tech manufacturing is less common here than in the East. We have end products, but manufacturing isn't that common. Does it dissolve with an industrial solvent? I can't imagine them scraping it off.

I think I rather return it for a matte replacement, if possible please try to find one for me. A+ panel would be ideal, I would pay extra for that.

I ran aida64, a diagnostics program and this is the info it returned about the panel. Maybe it will help a little.

    Monitor Properties

    Monitor Name Lenovo B156HW01 V4
    Monitor ID LEN40B2
    Manufacturer B156HW01 V4
    Monitor Type 15.6" LCD
    Manufacture Date Week 1 / 2009
    Serial Number None
Max. Visible Display Size 34 cm x 19 cm (15.3")
    Picture Aspect Ratio 16:9
    Maximum Resolution 1920 x 1080
    Gamma 2.20
DPMS Mode Support Standby, Suspend, Active-Off

From what I have researched, this panel was used in certain Lenovo Thinkpad models, but always matte. It is also a current option in Sager computers (also matte).

Thanks for being so understanding, you have excellent customer service. It was so hard to find your company, Google didn't have it listed when I went through 8 pages searching "B156HW01 V.4", I almost gave up but then tried Bing and found you there.

I frequent a notebook forum, and a lot of people are trying to get these genuine matte v4's for their Dell XPS 15. If you can find some I will direct some business to you

I'm attaching a PDF on the AUO B156HW01 v4. On page 5 it lists the surface treatment as anti-glare. On page 27, it gives a label example. The rest are just tech specs.

    Thanks for everything,
    ****

    Hi ****.

Thank you for this message and photo.
The Glossy coating is in fact a protective skin like sticker, to fit different demands. Most lcd repairer could remove it.
just let you know like this removing in china only takes less than 5.00USD.very simple job.

From that photo, the LCD module is saying V.4, without any doubt, not other V.3 ,V.6. V.7.
B156HW01 V.4 our current stock not available. Since very difficult to get it in short time.
It is hot due to is RGB led screen, we suggest you keep itand found one LCD repair store do a removing glossy coating.
Is it possible to keep it?
    Regards,
    Kevin

PS: Here are stock records about B156HW01 series LCD screen, all not available currently.
[image of short supply from their vendor written in Chinese was attached]

I tried to peel it off when I saw it was glossy, its not a sticker. It felt like it would chip off if I tried to remove it. I contacted a laptop repair place today and he laughed at me, he said they couldn't do it. I think I might need to return it to you, unless you want to knock a portion off the price. I figure to return it would cost the original shipping and return shipping, so $50 credit sound ok? I could sell the screen on ebay here if I ever do find a true matte v.4

Let me know what you think, I wish I could get the glossy removed. I don't think it is possible though.

    Hi ****.

We are afraid 50$ parital refund is not acceptable, the best amount we can accept is 15$.
That Glossy skin full name called Polarizing Film, may be you can tried search it for a try.

Please do not care laptop repair staff, they may be could repair laptop , but not LCD, that is because they cannot do that.
Doing this remove and install Polarizing Film is a exact slow job on remove air bubble out. So what you are looking for is a LCD repair staff.
    please advise
    Thanks
    Kevin

    ok, but I read this:

"polarizer is necessary for you to SEE the screen... Look at my pics again... if you didnt' have the polarizer blocking out the out of phase light you'd only see white. They sell polarizer with antiglare."

this is what he means, he is holding a sheet of polarized film up to a LCD without it.

ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

So do I need anti-glare polarizer added? I don't think you realize how expensive labor is here in the states, this will probably cost a lot.

The only company I found in San Diego was here Welcome to Bestech USA Ltd. . I emailed for a quote, but will call up during business hours if I don't hear back.

I've been researching, you can't take the polarization film off without replacing it with another. The panel needs it so you can see the screen. The only place in my area that does this is Welcome to Bestech USA Ltd. and they say they won't do it for me. The only other place I can find is this Polarize Film-MoniServ.com and they charge $95 and it won't even be matte, still glossy. Its not local, so plus I pay for shipping. If you can find me a place to get it done, I will do it.

So again, I am sorry but your website was incorrectly stating what I purchased. I think I am being more than reasonable that you take your product back and supply me with a return label, then refund the $154.75. I am not paying my money to return a product that was incorrectly advertised. As a favor, I offer you dismiss all the shipping fees, and refund me $47.60 (shipping both ways) and I'll keep the panel. Its not what I wanted or ordered.

I prefer you send me a shipping label and just return my $154.75. I will ship it back in its original box to you.

I'm sorry if I seem rude.

    Hi
    Openning the photo link, failed.
If they could not get back to you , let me know , i will send the return instruction.
Currently 7 customers ask me keep them informed once B156HW01 V.4 in stock.
We are so sorry that does not realized you care glossy finish so much. sorry for any inconvenience caused.
    Thanks
    Kevin

    Hi ****,

I gave up at this point, no use spending $50 on shipping for a $150 panel that will never (most likely) be fully refunded. If you want to contact them, their email is [email protected] sorry if this was hard to read, tried to find some pleasing colors, but I spent enough time on this post already.

seems NBKit is now sending LG replacement screens instead of the true AOU. I would avoid them, very shady business.

Yeah, this seems like a vendor to stay away from. Though there's a few on Amazon I'm going to follow up with. I'm hoping I don't need to pay too much to get a V4.

    Hi,

I am not wanting to start an argument here, but I would just like to add that the genuine B156HW01 V4 is not glossy, it is 100% matte. I have the manufacturer's specification that can be viewed here.

If you look at page 5, it clearly states 'anti-glare'. I have sold over 50 of these and they have all been matte.

Just weighing in here, my Asus G51vx-a1 came with a b156hw01 v.5 in it and it had a glossy screen from the factory. I even opened the lid to be sure and it says v.5 on the label ...

I have this same question: can you put a B156HW01 v4 display into an XPS 15z without any difficulty? I just cracked my 15z display, and honestly the B156WH03 doesn't look as good as the B156HW01 v4, so if I can upgrade to the matte panel I'll be happy.

I'd like to know this too. I am having real trouble sourcing a B156HW03 v.0 with H/W:0A and F/W:1. I have tried an otherwise identical panel with a different hardware revision (which is what I assume H/W means) and that didn't work properly so I'm looking for either a closer match or a plausible replacement. If anyone ITT is UK based and has a matching B156HW03 or a B156HW01 v.4 (if indeed that is an equivalent) for sale then that would be ideal, otherwise it would be nice to know what suppliers publish the level of detail I need in order to get an exact match. Many thanks, Roger

    B156HW01 v.4 is not equivalent to B156HW03!

B156HW03 is a "razor thin" profile. You will not be able to fit B156HW01 v.4 into the newer XPS 15z.

We do have working B156HW03 though :)

Hi, from your website you have 2 possible screens for my laptop, i believe both are the B173HW01 V.4 but there are 2 different prices, see links -

B173HW01 V.4 REVIEW AT LAPTOPSCREEN.COM - replacement Laptop LCD Screen $85.99 Brand-new screens (never used).
Dell XPS 17 L702X replacement Laptop LCD Screen from $64.99 Brand-new screens (never used).

Can you confirm that both of these are indeed the B173HW01 V.4 and which price this is onsale for?

    Thanks

You will only get the B173HW01 V.4 if you order the B173HW01 V.4
    (For $85.99)

The other link will get you a lower spec LG screen.

The L502X can take either AUO B156HW01 V.4 or V.7 (the latter is glossy and is used by Dell).

You must order from the page that shows the part number exactly (that is, go by AUO part number, not Dell product name).

Thanks....I see a couple of suppliers on ebay selling this but I read some suppliers false advertise and you end up getting an LG model.

I was looking at buying this:

    AUO B156HW01 V4 V.4 LAPTOP LCD SCREEN 15.6" Full-HD AG COMPATIBLE 4263345330027 | eBay

but this seems a cheap price.

Most sellers ship "COMPATIBLE" screens, not " EXACT, GENUINE" screens.

Don't buy it! You should have noticed the title: "AUO B156HW01 V4 V.4 LAPTOP LCD SCREEN 15.6" Full-HD AG COMPATIBLE."

Most of the sellers don't advertise falsely. They sell "compatible" screens that work with a certain laptop models. It's the buyer's fault of not doing proper homework and jumping at low prices.

The snip I pasted above is from a reliable seller's website where the exact AUO part number is listed, and they did confirm it when I contacted them. (I won't give out any name because I get no special treatment from doing so. Sorry.)

Does anyone have a source for these in the UK? I ordered a V.4 and was sent a glossy V.7 last week.

Now I've found somewhere that claims to have them but won't sell me one because I'm upgrading a laptop rather than fitting a straight replacement. It's for an HP Probook 4530s.

Another bit of a grave dig..

I'm also looking for a B156HW01 V.4 LCD screen. Laptopscreen.com is saying they are out of stock, is there any other reputable places I can purchase one? I want to replace the LGD032C screen I currently have.

I just did the swap the other day. I bought my screen from ebay, from user 'screenintaipei' after asking him if they were the exact B156HW01 V4 screen and not a compatible replacement.
The screen came and it was in fact the correct screen and has no bad pixels at all. I did a before and after comparison with a screen calibrator, and the new screen has a huge amount more colour (primarily in the red and green areas), the old screen looks so washed out in comparison.

Here's a link to the ebay auction I bought from:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121137437712

I've done a video tutorial on the process which I'll upload to youtube in the next few days once I've finished editing it. It's a *really* easy swap to do.

I ordered one from nbkit from eBay - this listing current says 3 more available. I read others had problems with not getting the right screen from nbkit, but I asked if it was the same exact part number as the listing, and they said yes, so I ordered. It came with the correct number and was matte - a definite improvement over the 1600 x 900 screen.

Sorry for digging up an old thread.

I'm willing to buy that screen (B156HW01) preferably v.7 (v.4 as second favorite) but unfortunately couldn't find that on ebay nor amazon.

I would be very glad if someone could suggest me a reliable seller.

P.S. addressed i82bu user one post before mine - did you get the exact part number with v.4?

    Thanks TERRA Operative.

The 1st link you provided is actually the genuine one - but used, so the price is way too high (including shipping etc..).
The 2nd link won't ship to my location :(

I've got the following answer from one of the sellers ( link)
"I would like to inform you that yes, we can provide you the exact screen, you can go ahead and place the order.

But please note, while placing the order, please add a note that : need exact screen not compatible, so that we will be able to process your request for the correct screen to avoid any future inconvenience.
    "

Isn't it too good to be true? or you say it is possible and buy it anyway?

    Thanks.

In case you haven't decided yet... I contacted that seller with the same question, and received a similar response. I think I'm just going to try, so if you'd like, I could let you know how it goes. Keep in mind that shipping could take a while, though.

    Hey M_Bos,

I ordered that screen as well. Did you buy a cable for it? from what I found out we need Dell's V73D3 ribbon cable (and not 0V73D3), am I right?

Will this one do the job? like:
    Cable1

Or it is better to go for a genuine one like:
    Cable2

P.S. it says "HD" instead of "FHD" should I be worried?

    Thanks.
