if you look in my sig you can tell i ordered a 1530 on wednesday but I heard some things about the GPU. Should I switch to the XPS studio 1640? or should I just stick with what I have? They both have pretty equal specs, but the graphics card is different.

Get the SXPS 16, much better than the 1530, newer technology, and even the gpu is better, i was in the same spot you were about a month ago, and as you see in my sig, i went with the Studio XPS 16!

Yea, that's probably what I'll be doing. I could tell that the 1640 was newer. :)

yeah the m1530 is a good machine but its a really old design and its about to get replaced by the newer xx40 series... your best bet is with the 1640, newer CPU, faster RAM, faster GPU ( only by a slight bit, but still faster! ), and a VERY sexy look with backlit keybaord.

yes the 1640 is a tempting machine, but i still love my m1530, but it will eventually grow old, and i will need to move on :D

1530 is older, 1640 is newer....
1530 is cheaper, 1640 is a bit more pricey
1530 has what is considered *older* specs, 1640 has the *latest and greatest*
1530 has more color choices, 1640 has only two: black and white, but w/leather trim..

Both are very sleek looking! :D

I have the 1530...and I would buy another one w/out hesitation! I would even consider the 1640. But, I'm used to the 1530, so I stick with that! ;)

In the end though, it all comes down to what you want.

    Cin ;) :)

Well it can't be *word for word*...and so what?? It's the truth :D Those are the differences...same questions asked, same types of threads made on the 1530 and 1640....and you will receive the same helpful answers, in one form or another.

Maybe, it would've been helpful if you had linked your thread (the same one you created on the same topic) into this one, perhaps??? ;)

    Cin ;) :)
