    Hey.

    I'm planning to upgrade my 2GB to 3GB, by switching out one of the 1GB stick for a 2GB one.

    My questions are.. which of these ram sticks will be okay?

    * Kingston DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2-5300 667MHz 2GB NON-ECC CL5
    * Kingston DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2-5300 667MHz 2GB NON-ECC CL5 OEM

    * Kingston DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz 2GB CL 5
    * Kingston DDR2 PC2-5300 667MHz 2GB CL 5 OEM

    Also, is it easy to upgrade ram by yourself? I asked from my local vendor and they said it's okay to upgrade some parts in lappy so I won't have to worry about warranty.

    Thanks

    SO-DIMM are the way to go, since they're smaller and intended for usage in small devices as notebooks.

    It most certainly won't make a difference whether you take the OEM version or not.

    Hope that helps!

    Edit: About the RAM-Upgrade itself:

    Usually, newegg.com has the best deals on stuff such as RAM. That's a good how to link, but there is also one in my sig if you want to check that out too.

    I'm not from the US, so I can't buy from these shops, but my local shops are selling computer components quite cheaply too, so no worries. Thanks anyway. :)

    Only laptops themselves cost much, this XPS M1530 (got it today) costed me about $2300.
