hey folks, going through a terrible time here trying to settle on the best nvidia drivers and i have determined that the default drivers were the best but since i installed vista 64-bit on my computer i don't know which set of nvidia drivers they were.

What are the default NVIDIA 9800M GT SLI Drivers shipped with the M1730?

They are not available through dell

I actually found original nVidia mobile drivers from their site (185.85) to work best with 8800GTX both in terms of performance and heat management, at least for me. 9800m is pretty much the same card i believe. Older drivers had poor performance in some newer games like Warhammer 40k: DoW2 and dodgy utilization of SLI. Tried modified desktop drivers from laptopvideo2go.com and also DOX optimized drivers, but i always ran into some issues. The temperatures increased slightly when using modded drivers (roughly +3-5 degrees celsius) and DOX Optimized drivers caused weird issues in many games for me, WoW be one of them, when whole game was extremely choppy. The only problem i ran into by using original mobile 185.85 from nVidia is when playing CS:Source in SLI, then smoke from smoke grenades becomes transparent most of the time (not always), which is actually very abusive and helpful bug :D There are new mobile drivers on nVidia site now, 186.03, but haven't tried those yet.
