Sometime next month (I don't know when I just know sometime in Augest) I'm going to get a New Lappy
It's going to be through my moms work and it Can't go over $2000 and
It has to be from eather Radioshack.com. officemax.com, walmart.com or Dell.com
So I've been looking at all the laptops in all these sites and I'm Really Leaning towrds the M1530
    I really like this Lappy
The only other ones I've even thought about is
The Toshiba satellite X205-sli6 or sli5
But I decided not to go with ether of them
So I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the M1530 because those other 2 are the only Gaming laptops that are under $2000 on those sites
and there bigger, not as nice and less powerful accept for the sli geforce 8600m gt instead of the single like on the M1530

Is there any deals or upgrades I should wait for or just get it as soon as I'm able to?
I really want a gpu upgrade every thing else on the M1530 is Great
I'm not a Really Hardcore Gamer
But I plan to play some pretty Hardcore Games on this Lappy
    Fallout 3 and stuff...
It can Play all the Games I want to play right now but idk if it will in a year or 2 ?
And I plan to us this Lappy for years to come

    So any way
The main point of this post is
    1. When will they update the M1530's Gpu I would be so much happier if I could get it with the 8700m gt
    2. Is there any upcoming or current Laptops on one of those sites I should think about getting instead?
3.If I configure a M1530 to cost just below $2000 will taxes get put on it and bring it over $2000

and I'd Love to hear some M1530 owners thoughts on it
And If anyone has installed Linux on it I'd Love to hear how everything works with Linux

Thanks to everyone who read all that I know it was a lil Long...
I'm just really excited to be getting a Brand new Lappy Since all the other Computers I've ever have owned have been very old and out dated
The computer I'm using now is a 8 year old HP

Centrino 2 should be out any day. I'd wait until then, but when it does come out, prices may rise, since it is new technology. This is just a guess of mine...i'm not sure how this stuff normally works.

    Good luck.

    1) when will dell update M1530?
answer is: dunno... all other laptop manufacturers have leaked or already selling their montevina laptops.... no peep from Dell about any updates, not even any remote leaks
    3) you can definitely get a M1530 loaded under $1500 (or under $1800 if u want max warranty).... if u'r a college student or ur mom's company has a deal with Dell (dell.com/epp), u can get a loaded M1530 for $1268 right now

I have to wait because my mom has to wait like a year and a 1/2 between each computer she gets through the program and it's almost been that long. It'll be that long in Augest sometime...
So the new cpu should be out by then anyways but I'm more worried about the gpu I would LOVE to get the 8700m gt or 9600m gt, or the 9700m gt so much more...
and I can't get a refurbished Lappy cause they don't sell them on Dells site...

And no I'm in high school not going to collage for a few years, but my sister is going for her second year soon, could I some how trick them into giving me the collage deal by having my mom say it's for my sister and not me or something?
And price doesn't matter as long as it's under 2 grand cause my mom just pays for it by $50 out of every pay check.
Where can I find more info about the collage deals?
And the dell.com/epp thing gave me a $50ish discount Thanks for the link

Thanks for all the quick response
It's nice to see this is a good forum site
I'm probbably going to be using it alot later when I do all the stuff I have plained for this Lappy (XP 64bit gaming edtion, Overclocking of the Gpu... maybe, No Media Direct crap, I've even thought about putting OSX on it but I'm just going to run it under a VM in DreamLinux) But I already pretty much know how to do most if not all of this from doing so much research

I'm thinking Dell is trying to sell as many M1530's as they can before they update
That would explain the M1530 commercial I've just started seeing
And there seems to be alot of deals lately that could explain them too...
I seen one post somewhere of a guy saying he thinks they'll update after the coupons expire on the 23rd, Does anyone know if that would be the 23rd of this month?

I'm pretty sure the coupons for the USA do end on the 23rd.

Also for DELL UK the current "money off savings" that they have on each month are set to end on the 23rd....Could be an indication that 23rd is the day perhaps?

    I Really Really Hope so
Could someone answer my question about the taxes Please
I need to know if after I make my Dell xps M1530 will taxes get added to that or does that include tax or how does that work?
