So I left my laptop running and it ran out of power so powered itself down, When I reinserted the power supply and turned it back on a screen popped up saying it was an incompatible/incorrect power supply and to insert the dell charger, annnnyyyways the screen said to press some key to just continue, naturally I payed no attention and just pressed it. Now everything seemed fine till I tried typing. I've now been through every key and these buttons now dont work at all: Left Shift button, the button under esc, F1, F2, F7, F8, The numbers five and six, Delete, Insert. At first I thought maybe it was a virus or whatever so i've run all the scans everything was fine, I ran the dell diagnostics and the keys dont register in the keyboard test either. So I was wondering, can anyone shed some light on this, Thank you!!

.... wow this is a weird problem... okay .... the only thing i can think of that could be causing the problem is probably the BIOS, try turning your computer on without the plug and then with the plug, and then using it and testing if your keys start to work, if not then it might have a damaged motherboard or keyboard... maybe call dell? see if they can do something about it ( i could also recommend taking out the keyboard, and pluging it in again, but that would mean dissemblance of your computer... )

    best of luck!
