Hello Guys, I have been experiencing this strange problem in my Dell L502X past few days. Whenever I switch on my laptop every morning it crashes or freezes on first boot. If it don't freeze then when I try to open certain applications it opens up few and then hangs everything taskbar etc and I try CTRL+ALT+DEL option but it takes forever to open and shows black screen with mouse cursor only and sometimes gives some strange error and I have to hard reboot and then everything works flawlessly. few days back I turn off all windows start up programs using tune up utility i.e host file and some windows programs to boot up faster and then the next day problem started. I formatted windows 7 before 2 days I thought it maybe due to I disable start up programs so but problem still persist. I will try formatting once more see if it fixes. Also I am not experiencing any BSOD error or anything like that. I have bought 9 cell battery recently. Can battery cause this ? It's genuine battery from dell.

P.s. I am also dual booting windows 8 since many months. When I start windows 8 everyday it don't hang or freeze it works flawlessly. I am using windows 8 nowadays cause of this strange problem in windows 7. Why the error only occurs in windows 7 and not with windows 8 ? On the other hand my JBL subwoofer don't work well with windows 8 but it works with windows 7. It just doesn't bass with windows 8 do you guys think it maybe driver issue with JBL ?

Shed some light guys, Need help :(

How up to date are your drivers? And did that laptop come with W8 or W7 to begin with? I would say format with one O/S preferrably W7 and load the correct drivers and test that single load and see if the problem doesn't appear again. If it does then that could mean bad hardware or bad hard drive or bad memory. But you have to stick with one O/S to find and diagnosis the problem first before dual booting. Your inviting to many problem to fix what could be a hardware problem or O/S problem.
