I have an XPS 1640, which is showing signs of dust under the screen,( showing as dark marks against a light background) also the display is loose, I have checked that the hinges are tight, (they are) it seems to be a flex in the metal on the display.
However, I have contacted support regarding these 2 issue, (I have the 3 year next business day extension, and they are saying as it is wear and tear, then it isn't covered.
Surely, as the screen is sealed, then these marks do not constitute wear and tear and if there is play in the metal of the display, again this is not designed for purpose.
It spends most of it's life on a desk, so the lid is not constantly being opened/closed.
