This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    It's included in the Windows auto Update. Btw, what does it do ??

    Read the link. It's a major upgrade to Vista. Puts in DX11, adds Direct Compute, hardware driven GUI for both 3D and 2D, Changed how portable devices are used, etc.

    It won't be staying on for long... Assuming Dell gets their asses in gear and ships out the Windows 7 upgrade DVD's... /sigh

    It's good to see Direct 2D and Direct Compute are available for Vista now. Hopefully this will increase the rate of developer's adoption of them....
