    Hello,
When I bought my dell xps m1530 I immediately installed win XP and I didnt have any problems with video, but now I returned to Vista and when I play world of warcraft(havent tried other games) my screen sometimes freezes for a sec or two, or I see horizontal lines and then nvidia driver crash. Sometimes after freeze my FPS drops down by quite much.
I have 09 BIOS and have tried 174.31 and 175.97 drivers.
    Please help me.

Ouuuccchhhhhhhh... :( :( THAT is bad.... :( Sorry for you..

May be problem with the graphics card / GPU??? Or is it just the monitor gone awry???? Probably not the monitor / screen since you say when you restart it seems to be fine!!!

Have you called Dell? I'd call them ASAP and fix up a tech visit. how old is your laptop?

2 months, it works fine on windows...I dont want to send it to warranty yet, as it takes 2 weeks. And I need my notebook now.
And in these 2 months hard drive died(changed in warranty), charger doesnt work sometimes(beeps), and now graphical card...I thought DELL was good company...Are they?

:( wow.. thats quiet a lot of issues in 2 months... and well, Dell are a good company.. but these things happen.

By the way, since you've had these issues, why don't you ask for a onsite service??? one for the charger and the other to see if its the monitor? If its just the monitor may be you could have a replacement done onsite and you wouldn't have to send it back. have you called them and told them about this issue??? I think you should before it gets worse..

Hmm I believe it's quite different in my country, You have to go to the sellers, show them warranty and they send it for dell.

Have you tried connecting your laptop to an external monitor (if you have one or if you can access one)?? and switch display, just to see if its the monitor / screen or the video card itself??

Well I'm testing for about 40 minutes with external and internal monitors on and no affects at all...No freezing...Maybe it overheated last time?
Whats the standalone temp meter? Hwmeter or smth?

Well... I think its time for you to call Dell / the seller or whoever and have it checked... you are probably just delaying the inevitable by not sending it out to the tech guys.. but I would do it ASAP.

I recently put 2GB RAM into my laptop, could it cause such stripes and freezes?

YES FFS, these rams cause problem, tho they fit needs for my laptop. The company of RAM is a-data.
Without them I have no problems at all!
