What program are you using to play videos, and if you know, what video renderer is being used?

Also, have you tried any sort of driver cleaner; if you do happen to try one, please exercise caution as many bad things can happen when messing with the registry etc.

First off, its always better to use backspace rather than to say "i mean"... because that way you make it easier for people to provide accurate help ;)

Second, the drivers are not the only thing affecting the quality, its also the video itself and the player. The player can have different configurations that make the video run smoother but with less quality. The resolution of your screen can also have an effect on the video.

you can check the nvidia control panel to see if you have it set to high quality or high performance, try changing those settings and see if it improves quality, be warned though; this can have a negative effect on the performance of your video card.

Also different codecs might be responsible. You might have installed some 3rd party codecs before, either unintentionally or completely forgot that you did. Now after fresh install of Vista, your player might be using standard codec bundled by Microsoft with Vista.

I liked ur idea though i can't remember whether i did or not. anyway, thnax a lot for ur wise thinking. still i m frustrating with the quality of the video. shall i install some codec for kmplayer for the quality of the video? i like the kmplayer player too much.

NB: VLC Player is also giving me same quality.
