And if so, do I need to buy anything for it to work?

(I'm no good at this stuff at all, so an explanation of how it would work would be helpful too. Thanks in advance.)

You're going to need some sort of video input on you M1730. First thing that comes to mind is a tv tuner but the quality would be poor.

The M1730 pwns PS3 when it comes to playing games. Why would you want to hook up your PS3 to your M1730 screen?

Because the M1730 has a 1080p screen, it would save me from having to get a new TV/monitor for my room.

I've heard about this Adaptec Gamebridge, does anyone know how good that works with a PS3?

The Adaptec Gamebridge won't give you more than 1024x768 so not 1080p.

And the specifications do not mention it will works with the PS3.

I did a bit of researching and it looks like this is my best bet: http://www.x2vga.com/

Does anybody know if it would work with the M1730?

Not going to work. You do not have a video input on your M1730. Without that and the proper software you cannot get an external video source to display on your M1730 screen.

The Adaptec Gamebridge could work because it will use a USB port for the video input. Except you're not going to get 1080p.

What if I had a HDMI to DVI adapter, could that work?

Edit: Never mind, did a bit of research and looks like this is not going to happen. Thanks anyways.
