    Hello,

    Would a Core 2 EXTREME X9000 cpu Fit on my Dell xpsM1530? I want to replace my T9300

    Heres 5 reasons why the x9000 isnt a viable option:

    -Thermal design (notebook wasnt designed to handle the heat)
    -Price (Core2Extremely overpriced)
    -Performance (The difference compared to your T9300 is in seconds)
    -un OC'able (Dell's BIOS doesnt have the option to unlock the last two multipliers)
    -Battery life (forget about portability)

    Moved this to the Dell section for other fact finders.

    For $500~600 it’s a big waste of money (given that you already have a T9300)

    I agree , i put one in one of my 1530s and posted about it here first ages ago.
    I have since sold it and put the original CPU back in
    To be perfectly honest for what i used the notebook for it made no diff at all
    I wouldn't bother mate, save your cash

    it will cost lots, and theres no need as your other components arnt up to standard with it, T9300 is great for dell m1530

    Yeah take that amount of money and stick it in a CD or an online savings account for a future laptop purchase.
