    Hello,

I'm thinking of purchasing a M1530. I'm currently looking at the options and for certain options I can't decide :

-1440x900 vs 1920x1200 resolution ? Is the 100$ worth it ? I'm interested in the increased desktop space and small size of pixels (meaning looks better on non-native resolutions). How about brightness, contrast, etc which one is better. Finally, which one has more chances of getting dead pixels.
-Dell Wireless vs. Intel N-Wireless ? I'm not too picky about wireless.. Which one has better reception. I have a Wireless-N ready router, but is the Wifi-N really usefull ?
-6 cell vs 9 cell battery ? The price difference is really big... I'm good with about 50-60min of gaming and 2-3 hours on internet.. Which one is right for me ?

    Thanks

    1. I would go with the 1440x900 LED option. It'll be brighter than the CCFL counterparts. I haven't heard either of them having more dead pixels than the others.

    2. If you have a wireless N router, you might as well take advantage of it. There is one Linksys model that doesn't play nice with Intel wireless N cards, I'd have to look it up as I don't remember it off the top of my head. But overall, Intel wireless N has a better chipset than the Dell broadcom cards.

    3. For those requirements go with the 9 cell, unless you don't use the battery often. Ask yourself, do you really need to game while on the battery?

    1) Personally, I'm not used to large resolutions anyway, so I'd take the smaller one (especially if there's an LED option?) Obviously, more pixels = larger chance of dead pixels.

    2) Intel Wireless. The Dell card is very problematic.

    3) Not sure if the 6 cell will give you an hours gaming. The 9-cell would be my choice, it slants your keyboard too so it's easier to type on.

EDIT: Almost the exact same answers as above!
Shame I got distracted for about 5 mins!

6-cell = 3 hr of internet use... maybe 1.5-2 hours of pure gaming

if u need a 9-cell and its expensive now (>$120 to upgrade from 6 to 9cell), wait.... battery shortage now, hopefully it'll get better and battery prices will drop (originally it was like $130 to buy 9-cell NEW from dell parts)

If you get that computer with the LED display, you'll get more battery life out of it also. With the LED 1440x900, you'll be able to run pretty much all last-gen games at native rest on high and current gen games natively on low-medium for around an hour with the 6-cell.

Running newer games on at 1440x900 looks pretty good on my 1920x1200 screen, you can barely tell the difference as long as you run the game in the same aspect ratio as the display (16:10). Older games such as BF2 and Counter Strike: Source I can run at 1920x1200 on it.

With the 9 Cell I get about 4 hours (almost exactly) with Wi-Fi on, doing basic stuff like browsing the web, chatting on Xfire, checking emails, etc.
