Hello I am new to the forums and I thank you guys for the amount of information that i was able to read from your experiences. im starting college in the fall semester and i need to buy a laptop. I have 2 general laptops that i want. Dell Studio XPS 16 or an Asus G50Vt-X5. I play World of Warcraft and hoping when Star Craft 2 and Diablo 3 comes out I am capable of playing the games full spec. What I like the Studio most is that it has a blacklit keyboard. Which the Asus doesnt. I have a hard time deciding on which one to get. Any open suggestions on which one i should get?

    welcome to the forums...........
well the asus has a better GPU (9800m GS)and a slightly worse CPU (P7450), the asus is the better gaming machine and it will max those games most probably (not knowing the exact system requirments for those 2 games) but asus isnt known for its battery life, so it is basically a desision you need to make based on a better gaming experience with the asus vs a more rounded notebook the sxps that will probably be able to play both those games on high settings if not maxed, and also give you a longer lasting battery.
So the question is what is the main thing you want to do with the notebook?
Anyway good luck with your choices.

well if your looking for a gaming laptop then the asus with the Nvidia 9800m GS is the better choice.
The SXPS gets warm but not overly hot, i use a notebook cooler when im gaming and nothing exceeds 70degrees, but the SXPS is more of a multimedia notebook, which has a decent performance card, the asus is more designed for gaming.
    Good luck in your choice.
