Someone from Dell told me that there is no driver for Linux for the 128GB SSD. However some people report running Ubuntu on the M1330 with a 64GB SSD.

Do any of you are running Linux on the M1330 with the 128GB SSD?

Also, do you know what features, if any are not working on Ubuntu?

Deal now offers a 128GB SSD so it should work fine.

Even if some SSDs don't work with AHCI access mode reliable, you can always go back to IDE access mode and be fine.

What is the difference between AHCI access mode and IDE?

    AHCI supports

. Native Command Queuing (NCQ): This is pretty useless with a SSD anyway since you can't optimize movement paths by reordering commmands. Access time is 0.1ms regardless of mich sector was read before.

. Hot swapping : Attach/Detach storage devices during work.

I've seen several SSD tests and I recognized some of them were only working when using IDE access mode and NOT using AHCI (at best was very slow). This depends on the controller and the firmware of an SSD drive.
