UK OWNERS - Did you get the extras with XPS 1530?

I see on various international reviews that the XPS M1530 comes with a special cloth, magnetic sleeve, and some kind of folder to keep CD's in as well as some headphones.

Question is, do you get that here in the UK with this laptop?

Just ordered one (see sig) and im just wondering/hoping to get the stuff too?

 

Yep, I'm in the UK and I got all that stuff. Hope u get the stuff, and a good screen, when yours arrives.
I noticed in your sig, you got a pretty good deal, all that for £800.

 

Yeah I got all those in my first system. I had a system replacement, and the second one didn't come with the cloth.

The headphones look a lot like the sennheiser CX-300's, are they up to much?

Also yeah, its was 800 because its coming from Dell Outlet, truly hoping its brand new from a cancellation, and that it has an good LG screen. If not, and I have the grainy look, i'll be sure to take advantage of that hefty warranty.

I ordered mine with a 9 cell battery, will that still fit in the sleeve you get?

 

Don't hold your breath on the sleeve. I got the headphones and the cloth, but I didn't get the sleeve.

 

So long as you bought a new system, you should get all of the accessories. If you bought a refurbished unit, however, you may not.

 

it is from dell outlet mind. Im hoping that i will still get the stuff as new. if not i can hopefully ask then to send me them, no harm ever in trying.

My sales rep confidently said that the earphone is not available in UK but I did get a creative earphone with all other accessories including an external dial up modem (that I dont think I will ever use)...

Well the item has now been dispatched, hopefully it will be with me on wednesday, though dells EDD is Mon 17th

Whats peoples experience with the Dells coming from ireland to mainland UK via Walsh Western Couriers? In terms of days taken from order sayin dispatched to actually getting it.

 

I've had 5 Dells (many replacements!) come via Walsh Western recently and they take anything from 2 days from 'despatch' to 6 days. Since it's the start of the week you may get it as early as Wednesday.

 

I placed the order on 2nd March evening Dispatched on 4th & the laptop was delivered on 5th ...
Hmmm... Looks like Dell is desperate to get rid of the T7xxx so that they can start off with penryn orders.

 

thanks leo. If all goes well, I will get it wednesday and it will have all the UK extras and a decent LG screen.

Its being delivered to my home address so im going to be travelling back to go get it, and wednesday is very ideal.

and if that is the case meaCulpa, we'll likely see some good T7xxx deals go past our eyes on dell outlet. Still I've got me a bargain, and i need it asap so i'll not be waiting around for a month for a penryn, despite the possibility of slightly better performance

 

I have had mine a few weeks but got nothing extra at all , it was a sent back model which was bought of a Dell suppler on ebay , Do you think its worth ringing up to try and get some of the goodies ??

 

I got a UK outlet system and got the cloth and the headphones (and that leather folder for the CDs) but unfortunatly not the sleeve or the modem.

 

i got mine delivered today. it included everything plus i got a wireless KB and mouse for free

 

Sorry for bumping up an old thread, but I wanted to ask if anyone is still receiving these extras?

I received my XPS 1530 on May 20th and all I got was the cloth, when I emailed Dell about it, I was informed that the extras are not given away free anymore but rather with an additional cost. Before I take this any further with them I just wondered if I am being fobbed off or if this is really the case and if anyone who has got a 1530 after or around the same time as me got all the extras.

I actually got 2 remotes as well

 

Mine (bought new) came with cloth and sleeve to put the laptop in. No other freebies.

 

i ordered a XPS1730 (so the modem/sleeve part may not be relevant) a month and ahalf or so ago new, it came with the leather book cd thingy, a set of Creative earphones (which tbh the sound quality is mediocre, but i don't wear them as i've got proper professional headphones anyway), and a cloth ( which i didn't discover was actually a cloth until i went looking for it, the way it'd been packed made it look like one of those padded "dividers" you tend to get for leather cases..

have an internal dialupmodem, so no need for an external one, never got a sleeve with it, don't know whether they just don't do a sleeve for the 1730 or not..

it was a UK order, and delivered by Walsh western with very little fuss, took about 2 weeks from order.

 

You do still get the little remote control thing, though, is that right?

 

Oh yes. At least I did, and given that Dell don't seem to sell it on its own, they would be very mean not to.

 

OK, thanks jon_m. I'm currently mulling over an XPS 1530 purchase; was considering waiting for UK LCD screens and maybe Montevina, but that 15% is pretty tempting so I might just go for it.

 

So you ordered about the same time as me and got all the extras - that doesn't seem fair that some get them and others don't it seems to come down to pot luck!

I have returned the XPS 1530 with all the goodies for a refund due to multiple problems.
I have reordered a new config again, and now u guys say i wont get the goodies!!

Thank god I dint return the goodies from my previuos order!

 

My New M1730 UK order, didnt have a cd case, cloth or earphones

 

With my m1330 two weeks ago, I got the laptop sleeve and earphones, but no cloth or CD case. The laptop sleeve was the important thing for me, though I'd of liked the CD case.

Oh and as other have pointed out, the Creative earphones are identical to my Sennheiser CX-300's. I don't know if they are the same, but if they are, that would make them decent.

 

i did not get any of the goodies with my M1530 too
i e-mailed them and they said it was a limited offer - shame.

 

I order mine a few weeks ago got it last week and I did not come with the earphones, or the cloth or the leather case. Its seems that some people did and some people didnt. I have Contacted Dell Complaints department and i'awaint their call. One of the many reasons I bought the XPS M1530 was for its decent amount of xps signed extras. You can get this in the states and I'm a fed up of not getting what I have ordered. I sense a Quest coming ! Any advice please pass on!

I ordered mine on 21st june, It just went into boxing today. I hope I get the freebies.

The remote is a separate item on my quote, so I expect I will deffinately get that. As far as the decent screen, sleeve, CD case, cloth and earphones go, I guess I will have to wait and see. Fingers crossed.

 

Hey all, just adding my feedback here since I've been emailed two queries about this very topic via my blog contact form. From what I recall I ordered my 1530 at during late Xmas 2007, and received mine pretty sharpish around the 8th Jan 2008, well ahead of the Jan 23rd ETA from Dell.

I got all my extras with my machine as mentioned in my Review. I'm rather surprised that there are issues now with customers not receiving the full amount of accessories.

 

I got the sleeve the laptop ships in and the remote. No CD/DVD case, cleaning cloth or headphones
