Hey all, I have the m1530 with the iwl 4965, I have another card, dell (Broadcomm) 1390 mini card.

I was wondering if I can install the other one alongside my 4965? If I am not mistaken, there are more antennas to use.

    Thanks for any input.

I read somewhere else that it may be possible, the are two PCI-e slots in the m1530, WLAN and WWAN. Has anyone done this before?

Why would you want two wireless cards? AFAIK, you can probably do it (as a PCIe slot is a PCIe slot is a PCIe slot), but you'll only be able to use one at a time (in the same way you can't use your wired Ethernet and wireless connections at the same time); you won't be able to do anything fancy like combine the bandwidth or double the signal.

So basically, yes, you can probably install it, yes, it will probably work, no, it won't provide any sort of benefit.

I've heard of people wanting to use a 2nd wireless card as a sniffer or something else like that.

Couldn't you "bridge" the connections also?

    First off, it works.

I just did it, and I am able to use both of them at the same time.

The reason why I want to have both of them, is because I use backtrack and it's not compatible with the iwl4965, so I use the dell (Broadcom) card which is.

but the 4965 has wireless N and it's a better card. So in Vista it works better.

    Thanks for input anyway.
