I just bought an m1710 on ebay and it has 2 months left in complete care warranty. I also did the tranfer ownership and its under my name now. Can I use the cc warranty if the laptop gets broken?

Yes, the warranty is in your name, so if something were to happen the computer, Complete Care would cover you.

I'd extend the warranty if I was you.

I can extend the complete care warranty? Do I have to call dell to extend the cc warranty?

I just checked the original specs and I dont have the original dvd -/+ rw drive which is (UD037 Module, DVD+/-RW..., NEC Corporation, Inspiron Sullivan/Tobago
1 UC823 Assembly, DVD+/-RW..., 8X Integrated Drive Electronics Nec Corporation, Inspiron). I went into the device manager and it says I have TSSTcorp dvd+-rw ts-L632D. Will this void the cc warranty or not?

That just means you wont be able to get the DVD drive replaced.

Generally when a tech comes out to do warranty repair work, they are required to take the defective part. If the defective part, however, is not the original item then it wont be swapped.

The rest of your system is still covered though.

Now, if the Drive was already replaced once before and the drive in there now is what was replaced by dell, then there shouldnt be any problems.

And actually... tyrying to think of it... I dont know of many techs that would check to make sure the drive thats being replaced is the original.

What if I accidently droped it and it wont turn on and I have to return it to dell, will they check the dvd rw if its the original one? And, how do I know if Dell replaced the dvd rw before?
