    so we got throttling issues, noisy hard drives, and heat!

    good catch, I've not noticed heat problems with mine yet.. but I'm very new to the system.

    I actually think its rather cool, especially when just sitting around for the power it has its pretty good i think. It gets warm etc when gaming but thats also expected as well, never has gotten hot hot.

    mine seems to run relatively cool. Only time I see heat buildup is if I'm using the laptop on a soft surface (like my bed).

    Those updates have nothing to do with the SXSP 1645, its a different issue.

    How loud is the fan in SXSP 1645? Is it distracting while gaming? How about when you are just browsing the internet or listening to music? I hope it's fairly silent.

    See my video reviews and you will notice that, even when I have an external fan plugged in when gaming, you can hear the game fine.

    If not just use headphones.
