    Hey Guys

I want to upgrade and change my laptop but stay with dell, i have a 1640 thats not given me any issues, still going strong. I want a powerhouse but not for gaming just for multimedia and performance mainly.

Looking at the DELL XPS 15 L521X im not really clued up on any of the news surrounding if there is any niggles people have been experiencing if any.

I currently do everyday stuff on this and use it for a bit of gaming, everyday email and internet use and downloading and conversions.

My spec is in my email, would love to find a top end 1647 but for the money i know i can get something beasty.

Any recommendations on which specification you would recommend would be greatly appreciated.

Will want SSD as system drive and at least a second drive for storage not bothered about disc drives.

Search through the L521X Owner's Lounge. There are quite a few "niggles" with the L521X.

    - The i7/640M model throttles quite badly under heavy load
    - The WiFi reception is very poor
    - The LCD has a sort of grid look to it that is not terrible, but definitely noticable
    - Some have complained about the touchpad

I have an i5/630M L521X and it is a really nice machine build quality wise, but the quirks I listed above make it a mixed bag. If you can pick one up cheap and the things I listed above don't bother you than go for it. Otherwise check out another laptop.
