So I read all about the issue and from what I understood, the fix is a replacement battery adapter and a Bios upgrade.
Ive never updated Bios before and Ive read that this can leave your computer useless.... I downloaded the file from Dell but before I actually do this I wanted to know if what precautions I should go through.
Also, if its true that this can kill your computer is it covered by Dells warranty?
Be gentle, I'm not to savvy when it comes to stuff this technical.

"is it covered by Dells warranty?"
Yes it is. Had my motherboard replaced when it bricked, however I tried gain, with a clean install of Windows 7, no other apps or Dell software laoded on and it updated OK.
The 1640 throttling issue.
