Recently, I found a thread about taking Dell USA laptops to Canada, but it's sort of outdated now. I am somewhat interested in buying a M1530 from USA with the summer savings discounts, and there is a friend that could pick it up. Just wondering, is there any way to bypass the taxes when it goes across the border? The other thread said someone can just take the lappy out and pretend it's for personal use. Does that still work? Is there any obvious things on the lappy that tells the customs it's from USA (i.e. stickers), and not bought in Canada? And also, if the taking out of the box works, what would I do with the rest of the things that come in the box?
Help would be appreciated, and hopefully ASAP as the deal is ending soon. Thanks in advance.

Yeah just take it out the box and put it in a bag or something. The other stuff can go in a bag too.

You may want to check and see what (if any) warranty is available in Canada on a US laptop. I believe Dell made some changes to because of people doing this exact scheme.

I talked to Dell about warranty and if you have 3 years or more, they cover it internationally. Less than 3 years you have to apply for another contract for service. Just search Dell. Also, Complete Care is only national - so if you get that in the US then its only valid there.
