I can confirm that i get 30 MB/s when copying from partition to another partition on the same hard drive. I'm using a Dell XPS 1645

Just wondering what's the difference between copying between partitions on the same drive or just copying on the same partition on the same drive? I would think there would be none. Anyway I moved an 8GB movie file on the same drive partition and it started at 60mb/sec, and within the first minute or so leveled out at 40mb/sec.

The other thing I noticed- this drive is an Hitachi HTS 7200rpm even though my order page said I was getting a Seagate. Oh well, I guess it was an "upgrade." XPS 1645.
