Currently on my M1530 I'm running my laptop with 3 GBs of RAM, 2 x 1.5 GB sticks. I was wondering if I could go buy 2 x 2.0 GB sticks and if it'll work? If it can, what are the specific specs I need to look for so that they are compatible with the laptop MOBO?
Thanks in advance!

Just did it on mine ..you only need one 2 gb stick and take out the 1 gb stick in there...this is what I used ....and was on for $39.99 at the time....worked like a charm....cheers!!!

Gunned alluded to it, but you have a 1GB and a 2GB in it now. It's best to use 2 identical RAM SODIMMs so the system can use Dual Channel mode.
The RAM needs to be 667Mhz or 800Mhz DDR2 200-pin SODIMMs.
You could put in 2 4GB SODIMMS for 8GB, but it's still expensive.
You need to have a BIOS version of A11 or higher to use more than 4GB.
My M1530 came with 4GB, and a 64-bit OS. You really need a 64-bit OS to make good use of 4GB or more. -
i only want to use 2x2 GB, and yeah i checked its a 1 and a 2 gb sticks.
ive got the A12 bios. So all i do is replace the 1gb with a 2 then, the same as the 2 i have atm.
can you buy them individually?
