Hey, I'm configuring my SXPS16 on Dell's site, and I'm wondering if anyone has any information on the 320gb 7200rpm hard drive. I'm either going to get it or the 500gb 7200rpm drive. The 500gb 7200rpm is obviously the Seagate 7200.4 500gb version because it's the only 500gb 7200rpm on the market.

But what about the 320gb 7200rpm drive? Would it be faster than the 500gb drive? Hotter? less stable? Are there any notable cons to the 500gb over any 320b?

Speed/power consumption are my main concerns, but if there's very little or no difference, the extra space would be a nice benefit.

    Thanks in advance :)

Logically 500 will be faster than 320. The HDDs are all 2.5" diameter or something so the 500 GB is denser, and because it's spinning at the same speed as the 320, more data will be read per unit area (because it's denser). 500 GB uses 0.05% more power than a 5400 RPM HDD, according to Seagate's official site (I have the 500 GB 7200 RPM).
