Do you think theirs going to be a upgraded video card, such as the Ati 4000 series in these laptops?

    - What is the real world battery life of the Studio xps 1640, with 4 gigs of ram, 2.4ghz, cpu?
    (6, and 9 cell)

I can't answer the first one, but on power saver, I'm running about 3 hr on the six-cell, about 4:30-4:45 with the nine-cells I have (I have two). On High Performance, I'd take about 20-30 minutes off of that.

Those are just estimates, but I'm also using the SSD.

It's possible that the HD4xxx series from ATI makes it to the Studio XPS, but I'd see more in the regular XPS refresh because those are supposed to be the gaming laptops from Dell. The Sutdio XPS is their multimedia notebook so more powerful GPUs aren't necessarily needed.

Studios have 4xxx series in it, Studio XPS should (hopefully) get it soon. From what I've heard, I don't think XPS will be refreshed for a while (if at all). Dell is phasing out most of their gaming needs to Alienware. If you need a laptop now, there are lots of good options... if you don't, then wait for when you need it and buy whatever is out then.

Im also getting around 3hrs on powersaver mode using the 6cell battery and around 1:50mins on high performance.
Cant get the nine cell battery in india yet so thats not and option.
I would suspect that the sxps 16 would get an upgraded GPU at some stage in the future and the logical choice would be a 4xxx series card.

My battery life seems to be about on par with what mtness has mentioned. I am getting roughly what he/she is on the same battery type and same settings.
