Is this model a bit more substantial or a little heavier feeling than the studio, yet still lighter than the M1330?

I barely feel it when carrying it around. Seems lighter than it is to me.

It's a small size but not a portable laptop, check the battery life. A waste of time.

3½ - 4 hours with good integrated graphics, seems ok to me?
Its about 0.5kg heavier then the 1330, but not too heavy to carry around in the bag the whole day.

The other question I have, which is a very subjective one, is does it feel more "solid" than the non-xps studio line? I was used to the looks and feel of the M1330, but to me, again this just me, I thought the Studio 15 I saw in the store felt a lot more "plastic" feeling than the M1330 did. I actually like the feel of what I think of as the more beefy/solid/more metallic feel.

Never bent a regualr studio one, but my 1340 is really sturdy, no flex and feels hard like a brick, even tough its a glossy plastic outside :p

The Studio XPS 13 is physically more sturdy than the Studio 15. I'm not sure how it compared to the M1330 though.
