At medium/high settings, is this possible (25+ FPS) during intense moments? And is it worth it to get blu-ray on such a small screen?

HP and the dv6t is a long wait till Early/mid august to receive right now, and I can't afford the quad/1080p screen, so I'm looking at other options (refurb).

I would say yest to your first question. Teh 540m should be able to get it done at that resolution.

As for the BluRay, yes I think it is worth it, even on my stock 1600*900 the pictures are way different than DVD. Also, do not forget that this machine can also be used to send the signal to a bigger screen without a hitch. Inception looked superb when I used my L701x for that. ;)

Don't let the small screen fool you... Blu-ray looks amazing on it.

(Don't know about SC2, but Notebook Review says it should.)

I have no idea, but I just want to say that you probably shouldn't use SC2 to gauge the performance on other games.

Blizzard games are super CPU intensive, designed so that low end graphics card can even play (ie playing WoW fine on intel integrated_

He's right, it's all about the screens resolution and quality of the display itself. I've seen bluray on 11 and 14" displays that look out of this world. It would be personal preference as to whether you'd want to watch tons of blurays on your system or not and if the screen size would be comfortable for you to do so.

Agreed, but that being said, I've played SC2 on some pretty low end hardware, albeit not at the prettiest settings. A 540m and decent cpu should be more than adequate, especially if you get into overclocking. Wish more dev studios would offload more work onto the CPU x.x And even more so your system memory. I still think 8GB of ram is overkill.
