That would probably run Starcraft 2 but not max settings with good frame rates

Yeah I'd say unless you have some games you really want to play on a laptop in the meantime or you desperately need a laptop right now, hold out for one for a bit until Starcraft 2's release time gets closer since it's still a little ways off.

There will be better stuff for probably cheaper at that point, technology changes so fast. :)

To be honest, Blizzard has a pretty good track record of keeping game requirements relatively low.

I wouldn't guarantee that you could max SC 2, but I would expect it to be possible, particularly at lower resolutions.

I would say that laptop would be good to play SC2 as others say Blizz keeps their system req low. There is a slight chance you might not be able to play it at max settings but I doubt it. The 8600 is a pretty good card.

Im pretty sure that you could run strarcraft 2 with a 8400GS with some medium details, because it doesnt seem to be an intensive graphics game.

Blizz's games have low requirements, and due to that, even people with low end integrated graphics can play it.

Looking at SCII, I'm sure the 8600GT should be more then enough, if not at max, then near max would be doable.

Well Starcraft being a RTS, would it help if he got a better CPU (T9300) or something? I know it is a 3D based RTS, but a RTS none the less. I don't play any RTS'es so when it comes to RTS'es I have no idea what I am talking about. I just like to say RTS.

Dell has had a 15" that could max starcraft for years.

Starcraft is 10 years old. :D

If you can wait, wait. You should know Blizzard's track record on release dates. They may say one more year, but in reality it's like 3 more years until it comes out.

I know people have asked this like a billion times, but would i get the same price for an equal or better laptop for around 1,300$?

I know its impossible to answer this 100% but thats just a problem thats bugging me. How much do you think it would be to build a pc that can max starcraft II

    A laptop or desktop?
A desktop would be less than 1000.
For a laptop...a gateway p-fx would probably be enough.

I've always felt WoW was far more demanding than it had a right to be.

Considering Blizzards track record and the fact that Starcraft is one of their most important franchise, I think the m1530 will at the least play the game at mid settings at native resolution.

Well SC2 is an RTS so it might be possible to max out settings.
