    Hi,

A mate of mine acciently spilt beer on my laptop last night. Now originally the laptop was open and running but I decided to reduce the risk of spillage and closed it (this is before the spill). So when the beer was spilled it was only the beer at the end of the bottle that someone left and it only went on the top of the laptop (not in it). I saw some little droplets in the mouse button area but took the buttons off and wiped it down. I took the back cover off and I couldn't see any beer or liquid what so ever. The laptop starts fine, everything works like usb ports, sound etc and I have no obvious problems with it. I am just wondering whether I should claim it on my accidently complete care for spillage. I mean there are no apparent problems etc but maybe there could be some in the future? Maybe I am over reacting, not sure haha. I have spilled liquid in my old laptop but it was like half a bottle and it went straight into the keyboard so it was screwed for the get go.

    Cheers

If something was going to break on it, it would have happened already. By the time the beer is dry, it no longer poses a threat. As long as it didn't get in your keyboard and cause it to get all sticky, you should be fine. It's your choice though, if you want to claim it, call Dell and see what they say.

I donno. I'd feel bad calling it in if it was still operational. If the keyboard gets a little bit sticky then tough cookies for me, I'd feel as if I had failed in maintaining the notebook and go on feeling like a failure and hoping it actually malfunctions someday so I can have a reason to have the keyboard assembly replaced.

In the case like this - you will send to Depot they will test and send back- waste of time- unless you have symtoms- just test fully
