I have searched the forums and cant find a specific solution.

One day audio via the speakers stopped playing on my Studio XPS 1645. Audio works through headphone jack but that is all. I reformatted, no solution. Here is the odd part- when i open skype...for whatever reason..the speakers for just a a few seconds suddenly play the skype ringing noise and skype sign in sound. Also when I do a sound test, no audio except suddenly when i tested via dell support center software all tests failed to play out of speakers except for the one that played MIDI.
anyway..im a novice but can follow instructions well..anyone else got advice or solution?

oh and i have been getting massive BSOD..i think its related to ATI modded driver i download...but i uninstalled and returned to regular video card driver.
