    Ello everyone,

I foolishy bought some new memory at 3am the other day without checking the systems memory specification. I just saw the DDR2 800Mhz PC6400, unfortunately I didn't realise that the ram slots on the M1530 can only take up to 1GB each :( and yes you guessed it..........I bought one stick of 2GB. I was just wondering stupidly what would happen if I tried to install the 2GB stick? It's a Dell Dimension 9200.

    TIA

    Fingle.

    ***EDIT***

Aww this is why I shouldn't be allowed on the pc @ this time of night lol. Can a mod move this to a Dell generic forum? I can't seem to be able to delete the thread.

each slot will take up 2 gigs in 32 bit more if you have 64 bit.
it will read the 800 as 667

The M1530 can handle upto 8GB, with 4GB per slot.

EDIT: You wanna install memory in the XPS or the Dimension ?

I'm sorry, I just saw the NBR M1530 review. It looks like it can take up to 4gb (or 8gb whatever), so the 2gb module should not make a difference.
