Im wondering if anyone of you actually notice this, I have smudges on my LCD screen which I couldn't remove because it is actually inside the LCD screen. I noticed a first patch long ago and now I think am seeing another patch. Could it be dead pixels or just pure dirt ? It's very annoying especially if you are viewing a white document. What should I do ? Could I get a screen replacement for this ?

Can you describe them in more detail?

Does your laptop screen have a 'front' plastic or glass? ie if you gently touch the screen with your finger, does the picture/colours distort?

It's possible you have a pressure mark - where the screen has experienced enough pressure to result in a mark but not enough pressure to break/fracture the LCD panel beneath.

It's really hard to describe.. my screen has a front plastic just like the other SXPS 1640 I'm guessing. the smudges are like inside the plastic and on the LCD panel where I couldn't touch or feel it. I tried Dead Pixel Buddy and it doesn't look like dead pixel to me coz the smudges covered the red, blue, green and white but for black, the black screen overshadows it. Here's a pic I snapped with my camera but it might be difficult to identify.
