    Shipping time?

    I ordered my Dell xps m1530 on July 5th, and on the site they're saying the ship date is 8/18????

    I'm just looking for a little reassurance here, since I'm leaving for college on the 19th, and I'd need it before I leave, preferably with at least a week or so in between so I can transfer stuff and all.

    I did get things like the 9-cell battery and the LED screen that said it may delay the laptop's ship date, but it can't possibly take that long until I get it, right? The site does still say in product, but that's normal I guess for 3 days after ordering it. I'm just freaking out a little because I absolutely can't have it as late as Dell is projecting.

    Hey there I ordered mine on the 3rd and mine is suppose to be here before Aug. 1st. Just from looking around it seems as though they're estimates are pretty conservative.....I'd say you'll get it before you leave for college

    Dell's estimates are pretty far off, take a look at the time schedule for my 1530 (sig).

    Yeah, my mom's new Inspiron 530 (desktop), was scheduled to ship on the 11th, and get here on the 17th, but it actually shipped on the 4th and arrived today (the 7th). So I would take that with a grain of salt.

    parts shortage (9-cell).... dell is probably overestimating the time for the part to ship
