Can somebody tell me step buy step how to achieve view of the desktop only on external monitor connected via hdmi and when i close lid of my laptop screen resolution won't change please?
Because now i have desktop and all windows displayed on my external monitor, but whenever i close the lid of my laptop, and i want to keep it closed at all times, the resolution in my external monitor changes to the resolution of my laptop screen witch is very annoying because laptop res is 1280x1024 and external monitor is 1920x1080. I downloaded the latest drivers available on nvidia web page, switch in power options to "do nothing" when i close the lid, but it still changes the res.
    Can anyone help me please?

you can set up a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel for the external monitor.
