Hello. I have an m1530 with the LED screen. Its been great but today after using my laptop for a long time the screen started doing funny things. First it went from bright to dark as if I had unplugged the AC charger, but I didn't. After that it looked like half of whatever lights up the screen stopped working because streaks were appearing so it looked like stripes of light and dark lines on the screen (its hard to explain I guess).

Has anyone seen this happen before or know what caused it? I'm assuming overheating was the cause, hopefully its not damaged. :(

I called Dell today about the problem. They said it was an issue with the cord or circuit that connects the screen to the motherboard. They said it had nothing to do with any type of overheating issues. When I run the diagnostic test in the boot screen an error comes up that says failed to light bulb A (or something like that I can't remember exactly). Has anyone else experienced this problem? A tech is coming on Tuesday to look at the laptop.

Nope, never had this problem before. Looks like you've just got a dud back light I guess.
