I just ordered an XPS 1530. It has 2.0 ghz, 8600gt etc, with the WUXGA screen.

I'm wondering if the screen is really going to stunt my gaming on the machine. I play CS and Warhammer Online. As of now I play on an 8400GS. CS runs fine, and WO runs OK, a little sluggish. My computer now is a 1420 with WXGA+ (1440x900 I think)

Should I consider sending it back to swap screens, or will it not make that much of a difference. If it doesn't make a difference I do like the idea of having the WUXGA to watch movies etc.

Let me know what you think!

You may have to scale down the resolution to a non-native resolution to be able to play some games. Other than that you should be fine.

i play CS 1.6 @ 1920 x 1200 resolution and my fps stays at 60. other, more graphic intensive games, i play at 1440 x 900. make sure u learn about DPI settings, incase u find the OEM-sized fonts too small.

downscalin shouldn't be any problems, especially with how well vista downscales.
