    Hey guys,

I had removed my keyboard to try and get the bulge out of it. I was on the phone with the tech support guys when they were directing me and I caused a few scratches on the black plastic console while doing so. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of those scratches or protect against further scratches?

Also, I had read an earlier post about how someone found a screw to cause the bulge in his keyboard. However I did not find any such screw in my laptop. Anyone know any other reason as to why the bulge might be appearing? Dell's sending me a replacement keyboard anyhow.

    Thanks,

Entertainment console.......lmao, that's definitely a new one. You can try googling your issue for further investigation.

Bowlerguy, did you honestly think he was referring to the whole computer when he said entertainment console? That's awesome haha :D

Anyway, Dell practically gives those away, I would just call them and request a new media bar. Mine had etching in it from rubbing against the screen bezel, I asked for a new one, next day I had it. And they didn't even require that I return the old one, so now I have a back up in case something really bad happens. Needless to say, I ordered a lappymat to avoid it in the future...

The other thing to look out for is cables that are not lying properly - most have guides to keep them flat. If a cable isn't flat enough it can cause the bulging.

I know with the M1330, many cases of the keyboard bulge were caused by the wireless antenna wires, passing underneath. They take a few twists and turns, which causes the wire to protrude above the base chassis, pushing up on the keyboard. See if any of the wires need to be 'reseated'.

Thanks for the info santos. I think it's time I called in for a new media bar thing. Mine's getting a bit scratched up from the display bezel.
