So I got my M1530 replaced with a SXPS 1640 with a 3670 video card and I have been getting this error message frequently. The laptop freezes then a few seconds later comes back online with this error message! How do I fix this?

Reinstall the latest Catalyst drivers, make sure you completely wipe the current ones with a program like driversweeper or drivercleaner or something like that. Then reinstall the latest ones available. I best ones currently are the 10.3 beta drivers are there's no modding needed for them to work on a laptop.

Actually the CATALYST 10.3 beta aren't the best, they are slightly unstable and some things like OpenGL games may have problems (see Quake Live). I'd give 8.682.0 a go made specifically for Dell's. If you want to try 10.3 beta or 8.682.0 they are both available and more on my website (see my signature).

Try installing the latest ATi Catalyst 10.3a driver.

First Unistall everything from ATI install manager>Run Driver sweeper to remove the rest of the components and restart the computer>Install full Mobility driver then upgrade rest of the components from Desktop drivers.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I had this EXACT problem yesterday and it was freaking me out. I'm running Chrome and the latest version of flash. Installed the latest ATi drivers from strags.com... do I really need to disable hardware acceleration to fix this (as suggested in the link from the previous post)? Is there an official patch yet?

I tried all of the ways listed to fix the issue but it kept happening. I was fortunate to get Dell to replace my 1640 for a 1647 w/ ATI 4670 and I have not had thee problem yet! Sorry I cant be more help!

Hmm, I have a 1645 with the 4670.... same video card. Perhaps I should install the latest official Dell ATi drivers instead of the ones from strags.
