Anyone knows how to verify if the subwoofer is working? Listening to the audio coming out of the laptop, I can't tell if the subwoofer is outputting any sound. Is there a way to disable the speakers and just have the subwoofer active (aside from taking the laptop apart and disconnect cables).
Thanks.

Well, you can get a Speaker Test CD/MP3. It contains samples of frequencies from like 50Hz to 25KHz, and you simply play those low frequencies. I doubt that such small subwoofer as is integrated in laptop can produce very low frequencies, but you should definitely be able to find a frequency low enough which your regular speakers can't produce and only your subwoofer will be playing. There are also Subwoofer Test CDs/MP3's which contain only array of low frequencies but these are used on determining the quality of subwoofer and whether it's in enclosure of correct size. It might still be used to eliminate speaker sound though, so only your sub would be playing most of it. "THX - Bass Test - Ultimate Subwoofer Test" is name of one.
You can check http://sinan.ussakli.net/basstest/ and get some test tracks, feel free to fiddle around. -
This is good info! Thanks Tuwa.
