If I get the urge to tinker with my machine, is there a manual of sorts for doing so? This is my first laptop and I'm lost. Simple things like upgrading the memory or hard drive appear totally different from a desktop PC.

One of the reasons I buy Dell laptops. If you ever need to fix or upgrade something, you have all you need to know right there. I can't recall how many customer's computers I'ved worked on (of different brands) that didn't have any documentation, manuals, or drivers online. Makes it a pain to troubleshoot and repair.
