Greetings - I received my XPS 1530 a few days ago and I'm happy with everything except for the factory supplied :( fingerprints on the lid. I tried using screen wipes and Windex - but I can't remove the fingerprints. Has anyone else successfully removed fingerprints, and if so, what did you use? Thanks in advance...

Why didn't you complain to dell the first day you got it? I'm sure they'd replace it.

I use a soft cloth to remove fingerprints. The same kind of cloth I use to clean the LCD screen or even my glasses :)

Unfortunately, complaining to Dell is almost out of the question - its a real pain to call the US from where I work. I tried their website using my Service Tag and it just timed out - internet access ranges from awful to terrible here .... :(

The tuxedo black lid of the xps is very easily marked by fingerprints... everytime I clean my screen with a soft tissue and 25% isopropanol, I also clean the lid and the media buttons area the same way... works fine to me...

Mr. Clean multi surface cleaner and a tissue from a kleenex box leaves the lid looking like it just came off the line (Don't use it on the lcd screen but it also restores factory quality finish to the keyboard and aluminum interior).

Do what I did and put a leather skin on the lid.

Thanks to all for your quick responses!! :) Mystery - I have been Googling for leather skins for 1530 without much success. Could you share where you got yours and how you like it? Thanks...

Nice! And, the generic store version of Mr. Clean...also works well, if you looking to get it for a bit less :D

Aye - Thanks again - So many great responses. I'm afraid though, that my spray-bottle-cleaner shopping choices at the Camp Liberty PX might be a wee bit limited...
